Hangin' at Grandma and Grandpas

So, for our journey out west, we spent 2 days at Emily's houses then proceded to Columbia to spend a week with mom and dad while Sean and his buddies road tripped it to Oregon. Here are some great times we had with grandma and grandpa!!

Fish Fry

For all of Seans hard work and dedication we had a fish fry at his request. Dad caught a bunch of fish and we sat on the front poarch and fried hish and hush puppies. Serena had some too, she is a fish fan. We also gave her a popsicle....she loved it but it was cold on her little hands and we couldn't convince her to hold the stick.

Seans Graduation

Mom and Dad came into town for Seans graduation. We had lots of fun, Serena was sooooo good during the graduation, she was loud, she kept yelling and screaming, but they were happy screams! She just wanted the attention on her!

Serena and her first Pediatrician

This is Serena at her last well child check here in Kansas City, we are really going to miss her doctor!! We love you Ray!!

Playing at the spray park

We took Serena to the Spray Park at Loose Park, she liked the water but did not like the spray part. It was nice to get wet though.

Weigh in

Serena had a doctor appt before we leave here, it was a little early, 8 1\2 months. She is 28 3/4inches (90%)and 18 lbs 10 oz.(60%). She is growing wonderfully as we already knew. Down to 1 more week in Kansas City, then 1 week driving for Sean and 1 week in Columbia for Serena and I before we make it to Portland!!

Getting where she wants to go!

There is no stopping her now! She is pulling up on everything, and now she is starting to cruise around the furniture also! She can't be left alone for a second! In this particular video she didn't pull up as quickly as normal because she had the urge to work something out. You will know what I mean when you see this. A diaper change quickly followed.

Painting and more water play

We took Serena out on the porch and decided to let her have at it with non-toxic paint and water, she was a mess! It was tons of fun.

BBQ at Bridgettes House

We had a BBQ at our friend Bridgettes house before we leave, here are some pics from that day. It was lots of fun! Thanks Bridgette for hosting the event.

Happy with my toothbush

We started giving Serena her own toothbrush and she loves it. She doesn't even mind when we brush her teeth!

Under Tables

This is one of Serenas favorite places to pull up. However, our tall little daughter hits her head under the table where the leaf is stored everytime. Right after this picture she stood up really fast and began to bounce out of excitement, but it quickly turned to tears when she hit her head on the table.

Water Play

For those HOT and HUMID days in Missouri, there is nothing better than splashing around in the water to cool you off. THis is Little Miss cooling herself off the only way she can.

Serena and her Sub-woofer

Not sure why, but she loves pounding on the sub-woofer! On this particular day she has on no shirt because we had been outside and she dumped her cup of water down the front of her.

At first she wasn't all that fond of the bubbles popping in her face. Now it has become a game to see who can pop them first!!

Meet some of my friends.

These are some of my long time friends, Brooke and Mike. Brooke and I met way back in Jr High in gymnastics, been friends ever since. This is another long time friend. Melanie. She loves Serena, and Serena loves playing with her and her glasses.

Visiting Grandma and Grandpa Mitchem

This is a new ride toy that Serena loved that mom and dad have at their house. Bath tub pictures are just cute!! We take big girl baths at grandmas....she has soooo much fun.
Serenas first tractor ride with Grandpa.....he is so proud! Little Miss enjoyed the ride and didn't want to get off, but there were no smiles....just a very serious look! Driving a tractor (lawn mower) is very serious business.

Our last Swim Class

This is a video clip of Sean swimming with Serena. We used a plastic egg to help her learn how to kick and move her arms in the water. It worked very well. She LOVES the water!!
